Why did we dine here? – Pizzeria Mozza is a popular Southern California Italian restaurant with Chef Nancy Silverton in partnership with star chef Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. We had it on our short list for our recent trip after a great meal previously at Osteria Mozza.

Mozza2go is their pizza take out location, right next door to Osteria Mozza.

We dined at Pizzeria Mozza for lunch in 2014

Insider Tip – Come early to avoid the crowds. Some folks don’t even order pizza here!

Cuisine – California Italian
Location – Los Angeles, Hancock Park Area
Opened – 2006

Service – Pizzeria Mozza had a nice waiter who helped us select the right items and surprised us with better service than most pizza places.
Verdict – Mozza serves up Mozza’s popular pizzas in a convenient venue. Next time we have to try the Chicken wings alla diavola!

Pizzeria Mozza Signature Dishes – Fennel Sausage Pizza, Squash Blossoms Pizza

Pizzeria Mozza Food Picks:
Insalata rossa with bacon, egg & pecorino ($14) was a cool salad with thick bacon chunks and strong vinagrette. Bitter with love.

Pizzeria Mozza Los Angeles squash blossoms burrata pizza

Squash Blossoms, Tomato & Burrata Pizza ($23) is a signature pizza. Large cheese droppings and a mellow veggie flavor. Great edge to the crust.

Pizzeria Mozza Los Angeles Margherita pizza

Margherita with mozzarella, tomato & basil ($14) is a classic. Minimalist pizza with a thin crust. Excellent, but not close to the real deal in Naples. All pizzas are supposed to have the same crust.

Pizzeria Mozza Los Angeles fennel sausage pizza

Fennel Sausage, Panna, Red Onion & Scallions ($17) Pizza had large mounds of meat cooked to a medium rare, and a ton of fennel. Hi quality cheese, soft center in the pie, thin crust, large golden brown and crisp edge. Subdued flavor. Very good stuff.

Pizza Mozza 2 Go LA Leek Focaccia

Nancy’s Focaccia ($4 for a quarter) made with egg and leek was very good. The full version looks like a pizza. Cold but still extremely edible. This was available at the Mozza2go location.

Pizza Mozza 2 Go LA Focaccia Olives

Focaccia ($4) with olives and cheese was also very well done.
