Benoit

Benoit is a classic Parisian Bistro in Paris that opened in 1912. It has one Michelin star. We decided to eat her to get some elevated popular French dishes. The restaurant is very conveniently located, not far from popular tourist spots including the Louvre. We can for lunch. English menu available. Lots of locals were eating.
The food here surprised us and is highly recommended. Basically cannot do any better with these dishes.
Easy online reservations.
Service was top notch, quite different than our experience at Josephine Chez Dumonet. No worries about ordering, refills, etc.
Food Review:
Blue lobster and green bean salad, coral vinaigrette (36€) had awesome lobster chunks along with super tender green Beans. Truly a great starter. 10/10
French onion soup (24€) is a classic dish we had to order. Great flavor, stringy cheese, and crunchy bread. 9.5/10
Roasted duck breast from Dombes, baby turnips, dolce forte sauce (42) had one long slice of duck cooked to a perfect medium rare. Perfect sauce we had to clean up with bread. 10/10
Assiette de legumes (38€) is a dish they created for a vegetarian. No settling for green beans and potatoes! 9/10
Sorbet trio (14€) had 3 flavors that were bought and not house made. 8/10
Complementary petit fours and Madeline cookie.

Le Relais de l’Entrecote is a well known and ultra popular restaurant for Steak frites. They have several locations in Paris and worldwide. There are no other food options or menu.
We lined up 30 minutes before it opened and found many people in line. No reservations.
The place is super busy and service wasn’t very friendly. Almost cattle car style. One and done!
Food Review:
Entrecote Saignant (29€ for 1) includes a simple tossed green salad, bread, and multiple servings of beef and fries. They ask you what level of doneness you want. Drinks are dessert are on the menu. The meat is okay, not particularly great. The sauce is very mustardy. Fries are thin and good. 7.5/10

Fleur de Pave

Fleur de Pave is a one Michelin star Paris 2nd Arrondissement restaurant that focuses on vegetables. We were a couple blocks away and gave it a try. 4.7 rating on Google. 9/10 on Thefork. Super value friendly 59€ 4 course lunch meal makes it one of the cheapest starred spots. (Excludes weekends and public holidays) A tasting menu with more courses is available.
The menu showcase a mix of traditional French cuisine with modern twists, incorporating influences from Chef Sendra’s travels, particularly his fondness for Japanese cuisine and green tea.
The service was top notch and efficient. They took care of dietary restrictions, explained the food, understood enough English, did refills etc. If you give them advanced notice, they can accommodate many situations like vegan, gluten free.
Food Review:
Déjeuner (59€) 4 course lunch – Starts with a housemade bun and 2 canapés. House bread. 9/10
Cauliflower 2 ways is their signature dish. Very smooth puree in the middle. 9/10
Pea tart is a extremely beautiful dish, with a nice crispy pastry shell bottom going well with the peas. 10/10
Vegetable plate with yam puree has more variety of veggies than I’ve ever seen in Paris. A bit of a mish mash, but nice and healthy. 8/10
We declined the cheese course.
Dessert with raspberry and goat cheese ice cream was solid. A bit on the tart side. 8/10
Petit fours with sorbet and a fruit gelee rounded out this meal. 8.5/10

Le Royal China is a Chinese restaurant in Paris. We were hankering for some Chinese and looked for a place near our hotel. We could have taken several subways to get to Chinatown, but we did not want to. The reviews and pictures look reasonable. The restaurant was fairly full.
Service was fairly drop and go. Food quality is good, not great.
Food Review
Canard Iaque (10.50) or roast duck was reasonable but not great. 7.5/10
Brocolis aux Champignons (9.50) is broccoli with mushrooms. Good quality mushrooms and broccoli cooked just right. 8.5/10

Robert et Louise

https://www.robertetlouise.com
Robert et Louise is a steakhouse inn the 3rd district, Les Marias, that was recommended to us. It has only reservations and was pretty easy to snag. No super long line like Le Relais de l’Entrecote.
The food was fairly straightforward and met our expectations, making this a good bet if you are nearby and want MEAT. Le Relais de l’Entrecote has a different style for their steak, more in a mustard sauce, pre-cut up with lots of thin fries. There is so much more to Parisian food than this simple steak!
Service was fine, nothing exceptional but better than drop and go spots.
Food Review
Entrecôte (25 for 300g) or rib eye was a large cut of meat cooked to our desired medium rare. Lots of charcoal grilled flavor. The meat wasn’t the most tender, but tasted fine.
Side of potatoes (4) was very good as was the side of green beans (4). The complimentary bread was especially good.
