Ike’s Place has been serving sandwiches since 2007 with lines out the door almost all the time. Ike Shehadeh’s believes that sandwiches should only be made with the finest ingredients and the utmost quality control. They added a Redwood City location (Ikes Lair of Redwood City) in July, 2009 and a Stanford location. Ike’s has 9 locations now! Our last visit was in April 2013 to Redwood City.
Dirty Sauce
All sandwiches are made to order, and come with Ike’s “(soon-to-be) patented Dirty Sauce”, Ike’s house garlic aioli sauce, made with 20 herbs and spices, and some of Ike’s own secret ingredients. Dirty Sauce is spread on the tops of Ike’s sandwiches and baked with the bread, turning it into Dirty Garlic Bread, and then re-spread on the bottoms, just for that extra flavor. They have a vegan version of the sauce without eggs.
Ike’s Decor, Vibe – Ike’s Place is pretty much a to-go spot and has only two small tables outside. Most of folks in line were locals in their 20’s and 30’s with a smattering of older tourists.

All sorts of named sandwiches from baseball players to politicians. They have additional sandwiches that are not on the menu, ask!
Ike’s Picks:
Free lolipops with sandwiches. All sandwiches served Hot & With Dirty Sauce Unless Otherwise Specified. Also served with your choice of Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onions, Pickles, Banana Peppers. Freshly Baked Breads include French, Wheat, Soudough, DutchCrunch, and Gluten Free.
5- Nacho Boy ($8.98) Hot Roast Beef, Mushrooms, Avocado, Swiss was a good sized excellent warm sandwich with lots of meat and fresh bread and veggies.
11- Mission P.Z. Burger ($7.97) ½ Pound of Angus Beef, Dirty Sauce, Cheese was a long hamburger sandwich cooked to a medium. Good flavor with all the fresh ingredients blending together with the Dirty sauce and nice bun. Not a traditional burger but still very good.
111- Menage a Trois ($8.98) Halal Chicken Breast, Real Honey, Honey Mustard, BBQ, PepperJack, Swiss, Smoked Gouda was very messy but worth it. Lots of warm BBQ chicken inside a fresh bun with a slight cheese flavor.
17- Sequoia Ravens ($7.97) Chicken, BBQ sauce, swiss was huge. Half is enough for lunch. We got free chips with a Yelp checkin, so look for those promos.

Ike’s Place had a 15 minutes wait to order, and another 15 for the food. Call ahead and place your order to reduce waiting times. Sandwiches are not the cheapest around, but are high on quality. We have no problem recommending this joint for some good sandwiches.
