Firefly Restaurant is a neighborhood restaurant located in the Noe Valley part of San Francisco. It has been around for many years. They have a very reasonable $35 3 course Prix Fix dinner Sunday – Thursday. We saw good reviews up on Yelp and decided to see for ourselves.
Decor, Vibe – Restrained decor, dimly lit, bar area on one wall, large communal table in the main dining room. Families, couples, locals, and people in their 30’s and 40’s were mainly dining.

Picks:
Yummy Roasted Brussel Spouts ($9) with Reggiano Parmesan and White Truffle Oil were definitely Yummy. Slightly crunchy and covered with cheese, these were the best tasting Brussel sprouts I have had. Good quantity of them too. Perhaps it is time to become a Vegan.
Grilled Monterey Bay Calamari Salad ($9.50) with Arugula and Caper, Pine Nut, Raisin Relish was very good sized salad with healthy amounts of tasty calamari. An unusually light appetizer.
The Fried Chicken of Your Dreams ($19.75) with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Peas & Carrots and a Damn Fine Buttermilk Biscuit was very good. Not overly battered, tender on the inside. Not as artery clogging as we initially expected.
Braised Tender Crispy Pork Belly ($20) with Roasted Sunchokes & Apples, Baby Mizuna Greens and Curried Onion Gastrique was artery clogging but tasted very good. Huge patty of Pork Belly. Nice Sunchokes, which seem to be more like potatoes than artichokes.
OK:
Meyer Lemon Sorbet ($7.75) and Honey Lavendar Creme Fraiche Mousse with Meyer Lemon Cookies was a decent desert, but not that special. Very sour meyer lemon flavor.
Pans:
None
Firefly Restaurant surprised us with very good food at a very fair price, especially with the $35 3 course dinner. This neighborhood restaurant shows why it has lasted this many years, very good food.
They have glasses of wine from $7.50.
