Why did we dine here? – Yemeni’s Restaurant happened to be located in an area of San Francisco that we were in. A quick Yelp search uncovered this restaurant. There was a TV playing Middle Eastern music videos blaring in the background, along with a mostly Middle Eastern crowd. Being adventurous, we decided to give it a go.
Insider Tip – Order what the waitress suggests, not what you would order in a Mediterranean restaurant.

Yemeni’s Restaurant Food Picks:
Hummus Tahini ($4.50) came with some excellent Tanour bread that was clearly homemade and hot. One of the better versions we’ve had.
Haneed (Roasted Lamb) ($12.95) is a traditional Yemeni dish that was recommended by the waitress. An excellent lamb dish that was extremely tender and lacked any gaminess. Highly recommended.
La Sanaa Shish Combo Plate ($12.95) Shish Kabab, Shish Taouk & Shish Kefta was a solid dish but not exceptional. All the meats were cooked fine but the Haneed was clearly better.
Flavored Tea (Adani) ($1.50) was served to us for free, and was excellent. Slightly sweet, be sure to order this if you are not offered it.
