Reviewer: Foodnut.com Yankee Lobster 300 Northern Avenue Boston, MA 02210-2066 617-345-9799 |
Why did we dine here? – Yankee Lobster is a casual seafood restaurant near the end of pier in South Boston. They also run a commercial lobster operation. This is an order at the counter, pay, and wait for food to be delivered place. Decor is pretty low key, making this a casual spot. A nice out of the way location that fewer tourists dine at.
Insider Tip – There is free parking on the side of the building!
Cuisine – Seafood
Location – South Boston, Waterfront
Opened – 2006
Service – Yankee Lobster is pretty casual, so nothing special about the service here.
Verdict – Yankee Lobster serves the purpose of fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Order the same stuff downtown and you will pay a lot more. It is located way out, so it is not convenient for many folks.
Is this restaurant worth a 5 minute drive? Yes. 30 minute? Maybe. 1 Hour? Maybe.

Yankee Lobster Food Picks:
Boston Clam Chowder ($4.99 for small) was thick with lots of clams and potatoes. Good flavor. Gotta try the chowder, when in Boston.
Steamed 1/1/4 pound lobster (Market price $) is good enough for 1 person. 1 or 2 sides. (Fries, coleslaw) Fresh, simple, good stuff.
Fish and Chips ($10.99) had 2 big pieces of fish and a ton of fries. Quality fish and good fries at a reasonable price. The one we had the next day at Island Oyster was even better.
Lobster Mac and Cheese ($13.99) looks great and is full of lobster. A very filling dish. Includes coleslaw.
Fish Stew ($5.50 small) is a red color thick soup with some kick to it. Worth ordering.
