This is a very touristy area, one of those classic challenges for foodies. Avoiding a tourist trap is very difficult. Below are several restaurants in and around Sorrento that we dined at. RE Foods We selected RE Foods due to some recommendations on Chowhound and TripAdvisor. This restaurant was not very full on a Sunday night and had a barker in front, major warning signs. The food proved to be very good, so RE Foods was better than expected. We feel that there are better places in Sorrento for those who talked to the locals and visit their types of restaurants. The service was sluggish. Hits: Il Pescato del Giorno – Fish of the Day for Two (€47) this fresh fish was local and carved and debonaire table side. A slightly above average pasta accompanied the fish. The price was pretty expensive for this dish. Risotto soute di calamari – Squid Risotto (€12) the seafood was very nicely done but the rice had very little flavor.
