The Original Falafel’s Drive-In opened in 1966 and has been serving up falafel’s duty ever present lines since. The restaurant is located in San Jose not far from the Santana Row shopping center. Decor, Vibe – Small dining room inside with picnic tables outside. Old school drive-in decor, with ordering from window. Mostly younger folks were ordering when we visited. Menu (Click to zoom into any picture) The Original Falafel’s Drive-In Menu has everything from Falafel’s to hummus to burgers. Falafel’s Drive-In’s extensive menu satisfies vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. Website Menu Picks: Falafel ($4 small) A delicious pita sandwich consisting of falafel balls, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, tahini sauce, and their famous hot sauce. Small amount of Spicy sauce on top with crispy balls and fairly big portion size. One of the better versions in the Bay Area. Hummos ($5.25 small) Puréed garbanzo beans mixed with tahini sauce, garlic, and lemon juice. Served with two pitas and veggies. A bit of hot sauce on top, cucumber, tomato, beet, too.
