Why did we dine here? – Liholiho Yacht Club is a Hawaiian influenced restaurant from Ravi Kapur, formerly of Prospect and Boulevard. He returned to Hawaii and found inspiration in the cuisine he grew up with. It is a very popular restaurant with hard to get online reservations, so book on Resy weeks in advance. You need to wait 30 minutes or more before it opens to grab one of the open butcher-block tables if you walk in. Last visit in summer 2025. They also run Good Good Culture Club Insider Tip – Get there early Cuisine – Hawaiian Fusion Location – San Francisco Lower Tender Nob Hill Opened – 2015 Food is innovative and fun, not to mention fantastic. Great place to go with larger parties, so you can share ohana style. This place is busy and loud, lots of energy here. One of the great reasons why San Francisco is still an exciting place to come for dinner. Service – Liholiho Yacht Club had better than expected service. Helpers were circling and the friendly waiter helped us navigate the menu. Water refills did lag after a while. Verdict – Liholiho Yacht Club […]

Why here? – Good Good Culture Club is a hot restaurant from the folks behind Liholiho Yacht Club. They serve Lao, Filipino fusion cuisine and has a party atmosphere. This restaurant is located in the heart of the Mission District, where Farina once stood. As a family-owned restaurant, they focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with Equitable Compensation Fee. They promise shorter hours, better pay and work-life balance for their staff. We lucked out and got early dinner reservations on Resy the day before, but judging by the crowds, you need to book way ahead. We returned several times with our last visit in September 2024. They take walk-ins, so you need to get here and lineup before they open at 5pm. Trying to get a table on their rooftop open air patio. Great for covid times. Beware, the outdoor tables in front of the restaurant subject you to a lot of pedestrians.

Espetus Churrascaria is a Brazilian steakhouse serving Rodizio style food. They focus on meats straight from the fire brought to your table, continuously through the meal! You can stop the meat parade by flipping the table card to red. They have a salad and hot plate bar with lots of different options including asparagus, bean salad, eggplant, rice, beans, cod, and much more. Do not eat too much of this stuff otherwise you wonder have room for all the meat. Vegetarians should stay away. Espetus Churrascaria has locations in San Francisco and San Mateo. We tried the brand new San Mateo location for dinner. It is all you can eat, with lunch going for $25.95 with 7 meat options, $37.95 on weekends. Dinner is $54.95 with 14 meat options. Kids are 50% off. Our last visit was in the Summer of 2014.
