Le Diplomate is a popular French Brassiere in Washington DC’s posh Logan Circle neighborhood. You need to reserve well in advance, otherwise come early for a seat in the bar or patio. This restaurant has a high 4.5 stars on Yelp. They serve brunch, lunch, and dinner. The food is good but not as good as San Francisco Bay area classics like Bouchon. This was a nice way to compare some of the best DC offers to what SF has. Nothing wrong about this place, we just wondered if we should have spent less somewhere else. Menu Le Diplomate has a classic French menu with all the famous dishes. Service Our server knew his stuff and was personable. There were some long pauses before people came by. They also brought all our food at once. We assumed the appetizers would come first. Food Picks Mojito ($10) was very strong and well balanced. OK Food Fantastic Bread Basket. Tuna Carpaccio ($22) leek vinaigrette – was heavy handed with the dressing. It could be more subtle. White Asparagus ($14) leek vinaigrette, cara cara orange, hazelnut was a fancy looking salad.
