Why did we dine here? – Top Italian on the Peninsula! Vesta is a California Italian restaurant in downtown Redwood City. They tried to support local and organic suppliers. It has an extremely high 4.5 stars on Yelp and was mentioned in San Francisco magazine as having great pizza. These two facts were enough to pique our interest. We finally got a chance to try them at the end of 2013, been back several times with latest visit in summer 2023. The place is packed most of the time, so come early. Redwood City has grown up fast, with lots of tech companies nearby like Box. Luckily, a parking structure is around the corner. Reservations are only taken for larger parties. Needless to say, Vesta was loud and packed, not a quiet, romantic restaurant. Insider Tip – Go early, order many different items. Cuisine – California Italian Location – Downtown Redwood City Opened – 2012 Service – Vesta had surprisingly very good service. It was rare to see this in a restaurant outside of San Francisco.
