Harris’, The San Francisco Steakhouse has been located since 1984. The restaurant has Old school steakhouse traditional decor with tall banquettes, and high quality 21 day dry aged, Mid-western, corn-fed meats. This is one place I think about when folks ask for a Steakhouse in San Francisco. Check out our: Top Steakhouses in San Francisco Decor, Vibe – Old school with a decidedly older clientele along with some tourists. (Do no wear shorts or they will exile you to the bar) Live Jazz music from the bar on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday adds to the classic atmosphere. On a Tuesday night, it was still fairly full. Business folks, couples, and more. Older set and no kids. Noise level was a lot lower than most other high end restaurants. Our last visit was for dinner in September 2024. Don’t feel like eating here or want a souvenir? You can buy some pretty nice looking cuts of beef from their meat counter. Verdict – Service was attentive but not over done. Service in the bar area is definitely inferior. Harris’ is still one of the top Steakhouses in the City. Forget about chains like Ruth Chris. Top notch meats, classic atmosphere. Don’t […]

Peter Luger is a legendary steakhouse. Our last visit was about 25 years ago, time to dine again. Since 1887 this institution has been packing in meat lovers from all over the world. Most of the folks in the dining room were clearly tourists like us. Remember, its cash only, no credit cards. They also have a location in Great Neck, NY. Our last visit was in 2016. The only thing that changes are the prices. Peter Luger Caesars Palace Las Vegas opened in 2024. It is located right next to the legendary Bacchanal Buffet. Menu looks similar to the original location. Steak for two $164.90. Three $244.85. Four $305.80. Single Steak $81.95 Rib Steak for Two $195.90 You can make reservations up to a month in advance for this classic old wood paneled restaurant. Insider Tip – Make reservations ahead. Order a steak for fewer people than your party. Try the burger at lunch. Prime Rib Friday Lunch only. They have a high end butcher shop next door. The folks running this restaurant are serious enough to get A5 tatoos! Executive Chef Steve Brown and the team from Omakase Restaurant Group (Omakase, Udon Time, Dumpling Time) has created a unique experience. Niku has an in-house butcher, Guy Crims, who also oversees the nose-to-tail butcher program at The Butcher Shop by Niku. We came for some high end meat gluttony. Check out our review of A5 Wagyu temple: Don’s de la Nature in Tokyo, Japan. Insider Tip – They have a bar and a couple tables for walk ins. Prices are no doubt inflated, but it was our last day in paradise, so we decided to splurge. Be sure to ask what is local. Cuisine – Hawaiian Location – Lahaina, Maui Verdict – Honu impressed us with decent food, we expected far less. Price are very high. Honu Seafood had average service with long pauses, from a nice waitress. Wish the service would match the prices. Honu Seafood Food Picks: Butternut Squash Coconut Soup 20yr balsamic, coconut (vegan) ($14 large) was a decent soup with a strong balsamic floating on top. Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese, bechamel, black truffle cheese, white truffle oil, garlic ($38) is a signature dish. Huge dish full of decadent mac & cheese with a nice truffle odor. 10oz Ribeye All Natural C.A.B. fingerling potatoes, vegetable medley, malaysian steak sauce ($43) is from a local ranch on the Island. Pre cut medium rare steak on top of the potatoes and veggies. Tender, good flavor and some really nice steak sauce. Wow. It definitely has a great repuation, and is situated in the midst of a ton of tourist traps. Foodies regularly recommend this restaurant, so we had high hopes.
