We can for dinner in the summer of 2025. Lots of tourists were there when we dined. 4.5 stars on Yelp. They have everything from Peking duck to Soup Dumplings on the menu. Stick to the Beijing dishes. Service was better than expected. English was spoke. Food Review: Peking Duck ($48 half) comes with crepes, shallots, cucumber, brown sugar, and hoisin sauce. It comes carved up with skin. No bones are given unless you ask. The skin was crisp but the meat overdone. 7.5/10 Beijing Beans Sauces Noodles ($18) is a version of the classic noodle dish, where you get the ingredients and can mix them together at your table. Beef wasn’t the bet, other items were fine. 8/10 Dry-Braised String Beans ($18) were done well and came out fast. 8.5/10 Z&Y Restaurant is a Sichuan restaurant in San Francisco’s Chinatown that focuses on spicy dishes. Chinatown is a Cantonese community, so finding a good Sichuan restaurant here is an unlikely proposition. The place was full so we decided to give it a try. It is now located in a big strip mall anchored by Ranch 99. This mall has a ton of different restaurants. The old one was decent, so we decided to give the new place a try. We tried them on the weekend, when they have some additional specials. Decor, Vibe – Typical Chinese restaurant decor, nothing fancy. Lots of families and big groups eating Little Sichuan’s spicy food. Menu Pictures Full Set Picks: Green Onion Pancake ($3.50) was crispy and flavorful, how these crunchy things should be. Excellent but a little greasy and surely will clog arteries. It is amazing how many places cannot get this basic dish right. Spicy Boiled Fish ($8.50) was a huge bowl full of fish. Not as spicy as it looks. Lots of cabbage, cilantro, scallions. Also available as beef or pork. Tea Smoked Duck ($8.50 half) was one of the best we had. Heavy smoke flavor, tender meat, not dry, perfect. Also, a large amount for half an order. Hot Noodles (Dan Dan Mein) with spicy […]
