Why did we dine here? – Lardo was the place mentioned several times by other foodies, when asked where to get a great burger in Portland. We’re also big Porchetta fans, so this made it an easy decision. We selected the location right near downtown Portland, within walking distance of our hotel and that bookstore to end all bookstores, Powell’s. They have 3 locations to serve your pig-out needs. Chefs Table Group also owns Ox, Grassa Next Door, and several other well respected restaurants in Portland. The restaurant is not huge and was packed. You had to fight to get a seat. Insider Tip – Be prepared to workoff all the grease! Cuisine – American Location – Downtown West Portland Opened – 2010 Service – Lardo is an order at the counter, get a number and the food delivered kind of place. Everything was fast and efficient, using folks with good attitudes. Verdict – Lardo impressed us with their meaty offerings. It reminded us of one foodie’s rant: is there any bad food in Portland?
