Perbacco is a popular Italian restaurant in San Francisco’s financial district that opened in 2006. They once had a sister restaurant next door Barbacco that has morphed into Turtle Tower. Founder Chef Staffan Terje left in 2022 but is still an owner. Last visit was in summer 2025. The restaurant continues to focus on Piemontese, Ligurian, and Venetian regional Italian dishes. “Perbacco” translated is an Italian word to accentuate positive comments. Our last visit was in the Spring of 2023 when they had both indoor and outdoor dining. Decor, Vibe – Perbacco has a clean and modern feel with exposed brick, with white marble bar counters and floor tiles. Bar seating as well as dining areas on the main floor and on the smaller second floor. Jazzy tunes, mirrors extending around, Open kitchen in the rear. The restaurant was packed when we visited on a Saturday with couples out on the town to families to tourists to friends getting together. Definitely an older crowd here, this is not The Mission! Perbacco Menu Perbacco’s Menu has a variety of appetizers including many vegetarian selections. They have pasta dishes available in appetizer and […]

A.O.C. is a popular French Mediterranean restaurant from the folks behind Lucques in LA, which is a favorite site to see celebs. Just look at the pics on Instagram. AOC has been our list for a while and we finally got to dine there in the Summer of 2017. This restaurant is on Jonathan Gold’s Top 100 list. Be sure to ask for the patio seating. AOC stands for Appelation d’Origine Contrôlée. It is a French certification granted to certain French geographical indications for wines, cheeses, butters, and other agricultural products. Awesome Cake Boutique Lady M is nearby. Buy a cake before they close! Since 2002 they have focused on inspired wines by the glass with a small plates menu. Insider Tip – Eat outside on the patio Cuisine – French Mediterranean Location – Los Angeles Opened – 2002 Service: The server knew the menu well and helped us order, but pacing was very slow in the beginning. A 3.5% charge is added to all checks to cover a large portion of full health care benefits for our full-time employees. AOC’s Menu is very wide ranging with a good mix of small […]
