Great Food at a reasonable price. Do not take our word for it, look at the ton of 4.5 star ratings on Yelp. There are a ton of high end Japanese places in LA, but few affordable spots serving good food. Without reservations you will have to wait, the lines are longer at dinner. Turnover is quite fast. Be sure to checkout our review of Bestia in LA. Insider Tip – Get here early or have reservations. Lunch is easier to get in. Cuisine – Japanese Location – Los Angeles Little Tokyo Opened – 1980 Service – Sushi Gen had a friendly server who helped us order quickly. Efficient service. Verdict – Sushi Gen met our high expectations. Quality Japanese and reasonable prices. Be sure to walk around Little Tokyo after your meal. Is this restaurant worth a 5 minute drive? Yes. 30 minute?
