Why did we dine here? – Redbird is a trendy restaurant in downtown Los Angeles that was on our short list to try. This is Chef Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser’s flagship restaurant is a follow up to popular Grace and BLD. Historic former rectory building of Vibiana – the cathedral-turned-event-venue. Insider Tip – Do not sit in the lounge! Cuisine – New American Location – Downtown LA Opened – 2014 Service – Redbird started with decent service, which unfortunately faded as the night went on. Perhaps it is partly due to being situated at the lounge room. Verdict – Redbird brings us mixed feelings. This restaurant is expensive. Most of the dishes were right on, but the service pulled things down. It is worth trying if you like this type of food. Good, but we loved Bestia far more. Is this restaurant worth a 5 minute drive?
