Being big fans of luxury buffets and having ate at several over the years, it was next on our list. Walk Thru Video: Singaporean, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai, Japanese, South East Asian and Western cuisine are all represented here. 7 open kitchens. Buffet dishes at The Market are served on a rotational basis during both lunch and dinner sessions, so you may not get the same dishes. Pricing varies with day of the week and time. Brunch is served Saturday/Sunday. Dinner from 630pm. We came for a weekend dinner and paid HKD$928 = US$118, not cheap but you get a ton of QUALITY food AND drink. Lobster with Alaskan Crabtastic Dinner Buffet was the theme. Want to save $$? Lunch is much cheaper at HK$448 but the selection will be less. They also have a takeaway menu. Decor is modern and clean looking. Insider Tip – Make online reservations a couple days ahead of time. Promotions appear on their website from time to time. This restaurant returned its original name: Lai Ching Heen – Signifying a homecoming, Yan Toh Heen got remodeled in 2022 and returns to its treasured original name, Lai Ching Heen after that. It started with that name back in 1984. Our latest visit was in summer 2026. Lai Ching Heen is located on the water at the Regent Hong Kong with postcard view of Hong Kong. (Formerly Intercontinental Hong Kong). They received Two Michelin Star in the 2026 Michelin Guide. Chef is Lau Yiu-fai and head chef is Cheng Man-sang . You’ll see the name Heen at the end of top restaurants. In Hong Kong, “heen” (軒) translates to “pavilion,” “veranda,” or a “room with a view” in Chinese. Other Hong Kong reviews: Hong Kong Mini Restaurant Reviews Lung King Heen, Lei Garden Yung Kee, Chuen Kee Seafood, Conrad Nicolini’s Sunday Brunch Buffet Harbourside Buffet Since 1985, this temple of high-end Cantonese Chinese cuisine has served excellent Cantonese Chinese food at very high prices. We love Chinese food and find some of the best in Hong Kong. We recently finished up our latest culinary tour in 2026. Other reviews farther down are from previous trips. Hong Kong is a world class city full of great food. Most of the Chinese food was superior to that in the San Francisco Bay Area. The service is on another level here. Here are some quick mini reviews of places we ate at, so you can understand how Hong Kong food compares, and so you select the best places on your visit. We have full reviews for places we deemed important enough. Not trying to get our money’s worth, we like trying all sorts of different food, items we would never order! We’ve been to many top ones of the years. Conrad was our favorite for a long time but only does a Sunday brunch buffet. Also consider The Market buffet. This time we tried the Verandah dinner buffet on a Saturday night. They have buffets at breakfast, lunch and dinner, with more expensive prices on the weekend and holidays. Reservations are a must, they filled up about a week in advance. At lunch and dinnertime, the wide variety of hot and cold appetisers, seafood, salads, entrées, and desserts reflects cuisines from all over the world – including Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Buffet Lunch (Monday to Friday) costs Adult HK$750, Children (Age 3-11) HK$630 Buffet Lunch (Saturday) Adult HK$850, Children (Age 3-11) HK$700 Buffet Lunch (Sunday & Public Holiday) Adult HK$1,150, Children (Age 3-11) HK$900 Buffet Dinner Adult HK$1,150, Children (Age 3-11) HK$900 All Prices add 10% service charge. Choice of any 2 roasted Meats (HK$380=$48) with Roasted Goose and Barbecued pork. They ran out of Premium Barbecued pork belly. The goose was delicious but had to be eaten with the skin or else it was dense and dry. Barbecued pork comes warm was very good. This was an expensive dinner but when you have limited time in transit! 8.5/10 Yung Kee Restaurant is a classic Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong covered by all the tour books. They are known for Roast Goose. They received One Michelin star in 2011 and have been around since 1942. They have a multi floor dining room. Special super expensive menus are available to those on the VIP level and Private club. We dined in the 4th floor VIP room, which costs and extra 10%. Upscale IFC Shopping Center – Glitzier than any USA Mall Lung King Heen (View of the Dragon) is a top rated Michelin restaurant in Hong Kong, with 2 stars now, making this like the French Laundry of Hong Kong. Using your iPhone in Hong Kong with eSIMs helps you stay connected. Controversy erupted after the decision, with some in Hong Kong questioning the ratings. Over the years, they have continued to make believers, as other restaurants have come and gone from the 3 star list. Tang court is the only Chinese restaurant with 3 stars in 2025. Lung King Heen is located on the 4th floor of the posh Four Seasons Hotel on Hong Kong Island, and is connected to the ultra high end International Finance Center – IFC shopping mall complex. Needless to say, we have eaten here on every trip we have had since they first got 3 stars. Our last visit for lunch was at the Spring of 2025. Prices have gone up and the selection of items adjusted. If you have a short stopover in Hong Kong, you can take the MTR express […]
