It is one of our favorite places as it is pretty consistent.. Always a candidate for the short list of best restaurants. It earned One Michelin Stars last in 2015 and lost it after. Nancy Oakes open Boulevard, a New American/French comfort food restaurant way back in 1993. She opened nearby Prospect in 2010. Alumni Ravi Kapor now runs Liholiho Yacht Club. Our last visit was in the summer of 2026 where we found the food quality still very good. Boulevard’s busy Kitchen in Action Boulevard Decor, Vibe – Pat Kuleto design with an “intimate Belle Epoque aesthetic”. Cool ceiling in the front, with thin bricks adorning the ceiling. Couples, business people, and groups were all enjoying the fine food. The decor was updated in 2021 before they re-open during the pandemic. Boulevard has been voted most popular by the old Zagat’s guide for years. The place was packed when we entered at 6pm. If you don’t have a reservation, you can get a seat at the bar or better yet, the kitchen counter, while they last. If you […]

They named it with anticipation, expectation, and looking forward. Prospect is near the Millennium tower. This new Contemporary American restaurant opened at the end of June 2010. They are trying to tap into a younger demographic than Boulevard. We came when they opened in 2010 and revisited in 2024. They focus on local, organic, and sustainable ingredients wherever possible. The waiter said make items are sourced from Boulevard. Decor, Vibe – Prospect has clean modern open and airy decor with high ceilings. Windows with motorized shades lined one side of the restaurant. A small lounge and a square concrete bar up front. Rustic reclaimed wood floors, long communal table before the main dining area, main dining room with booth seating up the middle and a long banquette on one side. Very spacious table spacing was up a great to see. Lots of modern art throughout the restaurant. Private dining room in the back. The place was packed with all segments of well dressed professionals […]

Twenty Five Lusk – 25 Lusk is a long-awaited and hot restaurant from an All-Star team that opened in the middle of October, 2010. Tucked away in an alley, this place will draw much walk-in traffic! They serve “sophisticated, contemporary, approachable fine dining specializing in neoclassical-influenced cuisine”, which probably means locally inspired California cuisine. Our last visit was in 2012. Famed Architect Cass Calder Smith designed 25 Lusk’s space to bridge modern and industrial elements. Cuisine – French-inspired contemporary American Chef – Matthew Dolan (Café des Artistes, New York, Emeril’s, New Orleans, Garibaldi’s, San Francisco) Location – Soma, South Beach, 2 Blocks from AT&T Park Decor, Vibe – Twenty Five Lusk is located in a historic 1917 building that once housed the Ogden Packing and Provision smokehouse and meat processing facility and features massive windows, exposed brick, slate tiles, smoked mirrors, mirrored incandescent bulbs, suspended fireplaces, tropical wood veneers, glassed in kitchen, and a chefs table. The bar is located in the basement and fills up with the local happy hour crowd. Upstairs it was mainly the forty-something well-dressed crowd along with some hipsters. Mayor Brown was hanging out downstairs on our first visit. Our last visit was in October […]
