It has been in its current location for 250 years. It is a wholesale fruit and vegetable market most of the time and a retail market 3 days of the week. It is a noisy, bustling market with lots of fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and meats. Lots of cooked foods are also available. Come hungry as you will be tempted by many items. Take the Tube to London Bridge Station. Tapas Brindisa serves up great Chorizo (£3.60) sandwiches. They are known for their specialty Spanish food and tapas restaurant. Proper Fish & Chips had some very good fish and chips. Northfield Farm Goat burgers (£5.50) were hot off the grill and tasty especially with their special bacon. A foodies’ worst nightmare We had to try Kangaroo Burgers (£4), but found them dry and not too appetizing. Yes we were foolish! Big batch of Paella. It smelled great. Strasberry – Strawberry, Rasberry combination. (£3.80 a punnet) Perfect for ice cream and flans. Beautiful tiny little Magic Cakes.
