Marlowe is a market driven neighborhood bistro near SF’s ATT park, they moved to the old Coco 500 location in 2014. Chef du Cuisine: Jennifer Puccio was formerly of restaurant Cortez. The focus here is on American comfort food. We decided to try this place because Michael Bauer raved about its burger. Our last visit was in February 2015. Marlowe’s sister restaurant is Park Tavern SF. Decor, Vibe – Marlowe occupies the space that formerly housed South. It is a tiny cramped space with modern decor, communal tables, bench seating, and counter seating. Marlowe was loud and packed with 20 to 30 something dot-commers during lunch and dinner. Marlowe Menu Menu is short with just a couple options for lunch including their famous hamburger. Dinner brings some more expensive options. Signature Dishes – Hamburger, Steak. Website Marlowe Restaurant Menu Full image set Marlowe Picks: Mushroom Soup ($11) whipped creme fraiche, chive, and black truffle gougeres hit the mark. A nice cup of rich warm soup. Marlowe burger ($16) with Caramelized onions, cheddar, bacon, & horseradish aioli consisted of the 80%/20% lean to fat ground beef mix with bit of lamb mixed in. An awesome toasted and buttered Acme Bakery bun topped […]

Twenty Five Lusk – 25 Lusk is a long-awaited and hot restaurant from an All-Star team that opened in the middle of October, 2010. Tucked away in an alley, this place will draw much walk-in traffic! They serve “sophisticated, contemporary, approachable fine dining specializing in neoclassical-influenced cuisine”, which probably means locally inspired California cuisine. Our last visit was in 2012. Famed Architect Cass Calder Smith designed 25 Lusk’s space to bridge modern and industrial elements. Cuisine – French-inspired contemporary American Chef – Matthew Dolan (Café des Artistes, New York, Emeril’s, New Orleans, Garibaldi’s, San Francisco) Location – Soma, South Beach, 2 Blocks from AT&T Park Decor, Vibe – Twenty Five Lusk is located in a historic 1917 building that once housed the Ogden Packing and Provision smokehouse and meat processing facility and features massive windows, exposed brick, slate tiles, smoked mirrors, mirrored incandescent bulbs, suspended fireplaces, tropical wood veneers, glassed in kitchen, and a chefs table. The bar is located in the basement and fills up with the local happy hour crowd. Upstairs it was mainly the forty-something well-dressed crowd along with some hipsters. Mayor Brown was hanging out downstairs on our first visit. Our last visit was in October […]
