We have dined so many times at their adversary, we decided it was time to try something new. Cottonwood is located on a hill that overlooks downtown Truckee, a nice view at night. There used to be a hotel next door, but it recently closed. Insider Tip – Eat at the bar to minimize cost. Live music on the weekends. Cuisine – American Location – Truckee Opened – 1988 Service – Cottonwood had surprisingly very good service, with servers passing by fairly often. Verdict – Cottonwood in our book was a decent restaurant but did not outdo Moody’s down the hill. If you want to kick it up a notch dine at Manzanita in the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. Signature Dishes – Caesar Salad, Basa Fish, Curried Prawns Cottonwood’s Menu features a good selection of starters and entrees along with some daily specials.
