Why did we dine here? – Estiatorio Ornos is Michael Minas Flagship restaurant’s latest reboot, this time to Greek cuisine. The decor is more warm and modern, with contrasting whites and oranges, and a lot less fine dining edge. There was definitely a buzz in the year, after two months of opening, the audience was well dressed and ready for some revenge dining.

Estiatorio Ornos Food Picks:
Mojito ($14) was Made-well, but too full of ice. 7.5/10
Hummus ($10) was a nice starter. It comes with warm pita bread and a crudites assortment of vegetables. I like their version better than the other Greek place. 9/10
Prawns ($24) appetizer consisted of three medium size prawns saved in a tomatoey sauce. Very fresh, and the sauce was so good we had to use some pita bread. 9.5/10
Moussaka ($34) what’s a customized vegan gluten-free dish full of vegetables. Well done, but not super special 7.5/10
Fillet of sole ($62) was recommended by the server as the top fish. Interesting cooking style, but in the end the fish was clearly frozen and thawed and suffered a little bit of wear. 6/10
Lamb shank ($42) was super tender and served on a bed of couscous. Very nice flavor profile and textures. 8.5/10
Lamb chops ($) had three medium size pieces of tender lamb cooked to our medium rare. Lemony and charcoal flavors abound. Comes with potatoes, although Kokkari‘s potatoes are definitely better. 9/10
Crema Sokolata – Chocolate dessert ($13) was recommended by the server and definitely hit the spot. Smooth, creamy, not too dark. Smooth, creamy, not too dark. Highly recommended. 9.5/10
