Bucci’s serves ‘Italian Soul Food’ in the industrial area of Emeryville. Since 1988 they have been serving as a gathering place for unpretentious comfort food. Their parking lot has tiny spots.
Decor, Vibe – Semi-Circular bar up front with 2 separate dining areas. High ceilings, open kitchen, local artwork, funky columns, exposed brick. Lots of nearby workers were lunching when we visited.

Bucci’s Menu is ever changing and is updated daily so check it out before you go. Lunch sees many pizzas, panini sandwiches, and some meaty entrees. Several vegetarian options.

Picks:
Pepperoni ($16) • Pepperoni, mushrooms, tomato sauce and mozzarella was a solid pizza with lots of slighly spicy pep and tomatoes. Good solid bread dough like crust that was crispy on the edge. Their pizza dough is created from five basic ingredients; flour, salt, yeast, water, and ‘TIME to allow the taste to develop.’
OK:
None
Pans:
Margherita ($15) • Tomato sauce, garlic, mozzarella and herbs was covered with herbs and an ordinary cheese. Pretty greasy on top and below, thick crust.
Bucci’s had fair service with the probably overloaded server never really checking us much. Prices are inline with restaurants of this genre. Food was good but not exceptional, making this a safe bet for Italian for folks in this neck of the woods. Berkeley’s Cheeseboard has much better vegetarian pizza.
