Taco Peralta is a taco truck located in San Mateo, right off 101 at Hillsdale. It is parked across the street from Bevmo. They have tacos, burritos, Tortas, and Quesadillas with 8 different types of meat.
Decor, Vibe – Typical taco truck decor. Bare bones get your food and eat it on the sidewalk. Lots of locals, many Hispanics were getting food there.

Picks:
Al Pastor Burrito
Carne Asada Burrito
Carne Asada Burrito regular ($4) had very delicious and good quantities of meat. Not a lot of bean or rice filler here. Far better than local restaurant Pancho Villa. Decent size for only $4. We also had an Al Pastor one and the meat flavor was very good.
Carnitas Taco ($1.25) was a compact little taco with very good meat on top. Tender and flavorful.
OK:
Chicken Quesadilla Regular ($4) had a bunch of diced up chicken, which made it weird. Quantities were decent, but not overwhelming. I like Pancho Villa’s Quesadilla better. Places like La Tacqueria use freshly pulled pieces of whole chicken as their filling.
Pans:
None
Taco Peralta took about 5 minutes to get the food out. Order taker was friendly. Their Mexican food was very good, amazing how taco trucks have better food than sit down restaurant. San Francisco has El Tonayanse and El Norte which are great. Perhaps it is because the cost of a truck is far less than a restaurant that allows good cooks to easily setup shop.
If you are in the area and looking for a quick bite of quality Mexican food, check this place out. They have a $1 Sunday Taco Special. Can’t wait to try some other meats.
