nectar wine lounge is a stylish wine lounge with locations in Burlingame and San Francisco’s Marina district. They serve many different types of wine including many tastes and several flights. They also serve a full menu of food with a focus on local, sustainable, organic product. They have daily specials. We visited the one in Burlingame which is located just off the main Burlingame avenue shopping mecca.
Decor, Vibe – Sophisticated dark interior with lots of wood and accent lighting. Bar and couch lounge area up front. Mostly well dressed folks in their 30’s and 40’s were present.
Monkfish ($14) wrapped around a bone, served with wild rice with toasted almonds sounded weird but was delicious and cooked very well. A small bone was in the middle of the juicy fish.
Nice tastes of Storrs Chardonney ($6) and Gruet Sparkling wine ($5).
They were kind enough to serve us a delicious amuse bouche and lobster bisque, probably because they saw us taking pictures.
Pizza ($15) hand-tossed dough topped with sun-dried tomatoes, rosemary cured ham, and olives had good crust on the edge, but was a little too soft otherwise. The ingredients on top were top notch and delicious.
nectar wine lounge had average service. It seemed like the friendly server had too many tables to service us regularly. The food was surprising decent for a place that focuses on drinking wine.
This is a good place to visit if you are into wine and is a nice stylish place to stay for dinner.
