Reviewer: Foodnut.com Burger Joint 1401 Burlingame Avenue Burlingame , CA 94010 650-558-9232 |
Burger Joint is another trendy high end burger place that uses high quality Niman ranch organic beef and Double Rainbow ice cream. They have 5 locations in the San Francisco area and have been around since 1994. We house dined at the Burlingame location several times, which is located in the Burlingame Avenue shopping district with our latest meal at the San Francisco Airport International terminal location. Burger Joint’ s quality has improved over the years.
Decor, Vibe – Burlingame has a 50’s retro decor although it was pretty spartan. They also have sidewalk seating which was crowded with the lunch crowd around noon time.
Menu
The Burger Joint Menu has burgers, turkey burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, cheesesteak, grilled chicken, as well as a Caesar salad.
Picks:
Cheeseburger and Fries ($8.95) with cheddar cheese. The burger’s size was good, not big, slightly above average. The meat was cooked as requested and appeared juicy. It did possess some beef flavor but not as much as other Niman
ranch burgers, and lots of cheese. Non descript bun.
The fries tasted freshly cut and not processed, with ample quantities too. On one occasion we selected their mixed green salad instead and found it pretty much taking the lettuce and tomato from a burger and chopping it up.
OK:
Niman Ranch Beef Hot Dog And Fries served with onions, relish, tomatoes and pickles ($6.95) was a pretty good sized dog with solid flavors, and a snappy wrapper.
Philly cheese steak with fries ($9.45) was a decent rendition with lots of cheese and chopped up meat. Not exactly high-quality but average.
Pans:
None
The Cheeseburger came in about 10 minutes, kind of slow. Burger Joint did ask how we wanted are meat cooked. This restaurant is better than the usual fast food joints, but slightly below top places like Pearls, Custom Burger, Mo’s Grill, or even The Counter.

October 9, 2008 at 2:00 pm[…] are doing their best to please. Value for the combo deal is pretty good. The burger reminds me of Burger Joint’s as both use Niman Ranch meats. While this is good stuff, it is not a guarantee of the best burger […]

February 28, 2009 at 1:52 pmWhat were they thinking? All wrong for the area. Replace a very nice seafood place (with live jazz) that used to be there with this eye sore. Place is minimalist in many ways. Looks like a mix between a gas station and a bathroom. Very very few options on the menu. I order my burger well done, it came rare, but replacement came in about 2 minutes….makes me wonder what happened. In and Out burger a better deal. Don’t waste your money unless you are desperate for a burger…chicken sandwitch is actually better. Place is pretty empty nearly all of the time…back to my poaint…what were they thinking? Should be out of business pretty soon.
