He previously ran restaurants in San Francisco. This restaurant has been here for about two years, so we figured it was worth a try.

Why did we dine here? – Redd Wood is the sister restaurant to Michelin-starred Redd in foodie heaven, Yountville. We love Redd, so we were just waiting for our next visit to this area for an opportunity to dine here. Redd is one of those top notch places that falls below the radar of many folks. This restaurant is located in the northern part of Yountville, not far from the French Laundry.

Why did we dine here? – Press is a Steak House in St. Helena that has received positive press from Michael Bauer. We were nearby and decided to give this beautiful restaurant a visit for dinner. A surprising mainstream change from the California cuisine that we normally have, at a place like Terra..! This restaurant is situated next door to foodie heaven, Dean and DeLuca.
Make sure visit them before coming here for dinner.

Kingdom of Dumpling Restaurant Review, San Francisco
Posted by Foodnut.com, July 18th, 2012
Why did we dine here? – Kingdom of Dumpling is a Chinese restaurant specializing in dumplings. Being large dumpling fans, we decided to finally give this place a try. There are few restaurants with this variety of dumplings on the menu.
Why did we dine here? – Because we went to Disneyland of course! Napa Rose is a nice respite from the hectic theme parks next door. We’ve eaten here before and found the food top notch. The waiter told us that 40% of the patrons live locally and brave the crowds to dine here. Many foodies build their trip around reservations to Napa Rose.
Why did we dine here? – Lers Ros is a popular Thai restaurant in San Francisco with a newly opened location in Hayes valley. We have never dined here previously, so it was a good excuse to check out the new location. Lers Ros means “excellent taste of the food” in Sanskrit. Tom Silargorn is the owner and chef. Michael Bauer has this restaurant in his top 100 Bay Area restaurants for 2012. This review is the culmination of two visits. The restaurant is extremely noisy during peek times and also cramped.
One of the most underrated places in the San Francisco Bay Area. Located in the heard of the Napa wine country and specifically in foodie heaven aka Yountville, California. It earned One Michelin Star in 2012. We have dined here 3 times, with the last visit in the Summer of 2013. They also run sister Italian restaurant Redd Wood.

Koi Palace is a popular Cantonese Chinese restaurant in Daly City. The Peninsula is ground zero for some of the best Chinese food in the SF Bay area. It has been around since 1997 and specializes in wide selection of Dim Sum for lunch and special dishes for dinner. This restaurant also has locations in Dublin and at Thunder Valley Casino. We came for dinner and have previously reviewed Koi Palace dim sum lunch. Our return trips included several in 2013. Yelp reviews emphasize lunch and do not factor in where this place falls in the Chinese restaurant pecking order.
Why did we dine here? – Orenchi is a very popular Japanese Noodle House that has been on our hit list for a while. They are a sister restuarant to Sumika in Los Gatos. The broth that they use is cooked for a minimum of 18 hours. It is made with organic chicken, Canadian black pork, and filtered water. There is a line much of the time. We had to wait approximately 45 minutes for a Saturday night dinner. They close up when they run out of broth, which happened about 8:30pm on this particular evening.
