The Ahwahnee Hotel Restaurant, Yosemite

The Ahwahnee Hotel Restaurant_

The Ahwahnee Hotel Restaurant in Yosemite is a must visit for new site-seers to Yosemite. Steeped in tradition, this old dining hall brings you back to olden days. We went for lunch during the summer of 2011 and found the food just slightly above average. You come here not for the food, but for the atmosphere. Note: dinner is much more expensive and requires more formal clothing (for men, collared shirt and no athletic shoes) than lunch. We were surprised that there were a lot of Mediterranean items on the menu. The signature dish is the deep-fried Monte Cristo Sandwich. The sandwich is also available at Disneyland.

A taste of the fish market in Guangzhou, China. The market has hundreds of vendors similar to these. Not as beautiful as most food markets, but worth a trip for foodies like us.  There are some restaurants located upstairs.

Morimoto Restaurant Review, Napa

Posted by Foodnut.com, October 17th, 2011

Morimoto Napa exterior decor

Morimoto Napa is a Japanese restaurant run by world famous television Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. This celebrity chef, who also worked at Nobu, is known for his whimsical twists on Japanese cuisine. The restaurant has gotten lukewarm reviews from the major San Francisco food critics, so we came expecting a lot of flash and little substance. He has outposts around the world including in India and Hawaii. We had lunch at Morimoto Napa.

Hong Kong Flower Lounge Millbrae exterior decor

Hong Kong Flower Lounge is part of the Mayflower restaurant group that has four Chinese Cantonese restaurants locations in the San Francisco Bay area; San Francisco, Millbrae, Union City, and Milpitas. We visited the location in Millbrae. This review concentrates on dim sum served only during lunch. They’ve been around a long time, over 20 years. Hong Kong Flower Lounge has an extensive menu and have lot of items are not on carts, thus needing to be ordered through a waiter. Our latest visit was in October, 2011.

T’ang Court is a 2 Michelin star restaurant in the ritzy Langham Hotel in Hong Kong’s touristy Tsim Sha Tsui district.
