City View Restaurant is a Chinese dim sum restaurant near San Francisco’s Financial district and Chinatown. that only serves lunch. It is located in an alley, so few people happen to pass by it. They do not lists prices on their menu, but their prices are far lower than well known Yank Sing’s. They use the old school dim sum cart and server system. Their dim sum selection is limited. Our last visit was in the middle of 2011.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in San Francisco. Perbacco is a popular Italian restaurant in San Francisco’s financial district that opened in 2006. We had been to their sister restaurant next door Barbacco recently, and felt it was high time that we came back to Perbacco. Chef Staffan Terje focuses on Piemontese, Ligurian, and Venetian regional Italian dishes. “Perbacco” translated is an Italian word to accentuate positive comments. Our last visit was in the middle of 2012. Read the rest of this entry »

South Sea Seafood Village Restaurant Review, Millbrae
Posted by Foodnut.com, August 4th, 2011
South Sea Seafood Village took the place of Fook Yuen Seafood Restaurant in Millbrae in February 2010. Fook Yuen was a long standing Chinese restaurant in Millbrae that acquired a good reputation over the years. South Sea Seafood also has a location in San Francisco’s Sunset district. Millbrae is home to many fine Cantonese Chinese restaurant including Asian Pearl Peninsula and Zen Peninsula. With such high powered competition we wondered how they would position themselves. We came for dinner last in early 2012, and returned for dim sum Lunch last in 2011.
Why did we dine here? – Luce is a one Michelin star restaurant in the Intercontinental San Francisco hotel. We’ve debated dining here for a while. The previous chef left to open Atelier Crenn, so we wondered how Luce would rate now. The reviews on yelp are decidedly mixed.
Daniel Corey (Pelican Bay resort) worked under chef Crenn, and is now the chef de cuisine and has put his stamp on the food.
