Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine Restaurant Review, Foster City

Posted by Foodnut.com, October 29th, 2010

Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine is a restaurant in Foster City, a couple doors down from popular 5 Joy Chinese restaurant. They also run a vegetarian Thai restaurant next door. We were going to 5 Joy decided to mix it up a little bit after having a very good meal at Osha Thai in San Francisco.
Decor, Vibe – Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine has very nice interior decor with Buddha fountain by the door, modern art lamps, wooden banquettes, and bamboo tables. The place was pretty full for a weekend evening.

Luna has closed, visit Hotaru and Sushi Sam instead.

Luna Japanese Fusion Bistro is a new Japanese restaurant in downtown San Mateo, where there seems to be a Japanese restaurant on every block and one right next door. This restaurant, run by Chinese folks, focuses on tapas or small plates and is located where Lure used to be.

Ragazza (Italian for girl) is the second restaurant by chef/owner Sharon Ardiana and opened in September 2010. Ragazza’s sister restaurant, top rated and our favorite pizza restaurant Gialina, located in the Glen Park neighborhood, opened in January 2007. Ragazza is an informal neighborhood restaurant featuring Neapolitan-style thin crust pizzas, seasonal salads, antipasti served in a casual atmosphere. Read the rest of this entry »

New Canon Powershot S95 Digital Camera for Food

Posted by Foodnut.com, October 13th, 2010

Canon S95 Digital Camera

While we are definitely amateurs learning photography as we go, we are often asked what digital camera we use for our photos.  We recently upgraded to the Canon Powershot S95 Digital Camera. This 10MPixel Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom has an excellent f2 lens which allow it to take excellent low light pictures.  This model ads 720p HD video, HDR mode, and faster focusing over the already excellent Canon Powershot S90.

Acqua pazza Ristorante, San Mateo

Posted by Foodnut.com, October 6th, 2010

Acqua Pazza San Mateo Front

Acqua pazza Ristorante is an Italian restaurant run by 3 brothers from Naples. Chef Valerio Rosano cooked classic dishes from this homeland. Acquapazza is located in downtown San Mateo in a location that has seen many different name changes. Hopefully this restaurant will last a lot longer. We have been back several times with our last visit in the middle of 2012. They opened a sister restaurant in San Carlos called Locanda Positano. Read the rest of this entry »
