Tai Kee Won Ton Restaurant review, San Jose

Posted by Foodnut.com, June 30th, 2008

This small fast food like restaurant is located next to Hulu Ramen, one of the best Japanese noodle places in the SF Bay Area. It was slow during lunch time, less than half full.  Service ok.
They have a very simple menu.  4 wonton / noodle soup dishes, several rice plates, and several noodle dishes with no soup to choose from.  also have 7 or so small cold dishes to go with your noodle or rice dish. (cucumber salad with garlic sauce, bamboo shoot marinade, asparagus salad, braised egg, shredded braised tofu…)

The price of the main dishes are from $6.99 to $8.99.   Not cheap for fast food, so if it satisfied our taste buds for comfort food, we’d go again.

Best o burger 2

Another trendy fancy burger place… This one is a small one located in the shadow of the tall Bank of America building. It closed and their new location is at 1 Market Plaza. They serve mini burgers (ala White Castle) to go, and they have no place to sit. Their claim to fame is fresh 100% all natural Angus beef, cast iron skillets, oven baked buns. Housemade ‘Strings & Ring-O’s’. They make shakes out of gelato. Read the rest of this entry »
