Pain de Sucre (Sugarloaf in English) is a Foodie must visit patisserie in Paris’s dynamic 3rd Arrondissement known as The Marais. This shop is located a couple blocks from the Museum Pompidou. We visited many food shops in Paris and this one still stands out. The owners used to work for 3 Michelin star chef Pierre Gagnaire, but left to open this store in 2004.
La Fourchette is a Provencal cuisine bistro located in Avignon about a block from the main street with the Palace du Papes. They specialize in Vaucluse caillettes, Les pieds et paquets, or a great Avignon daube. Their three course prix fix dinner costs a reasonable 30.50€.
Hiely Lucullus is a popular restaurant in Avignon, France on the second floor above a clothing store on a main Avignon street. It reigned supreme for years as the top restaurant until Christian Etienne opened and got a Michelin Star. The haute cuisine served is predominantly French, Mediterranean, and Provencal. Grilled Alpine lamb is their specialty dish. They have some very good deals during lunch (19€). We can for dinner and were allowed to order a lunch deal as well two dinner Menu Carte (35€).
L’ Epice and Love is a quirky but small restaurant in the heart of Avignon, France. Modestly priced, they serve simple food that is well prepared. Madame Marie is the chef and owner and speaks English. The place is rated #1 on Tripadvisor for Avignon probably because it only costs 16.80€ for a 3 course dinner.
Chateau Eza is tucked away in the thousand-year-old medieval mountain top village of Eze Le Village, overlooking the Mediterranean. We saw Eze Le Village in a Rick Steves’ TV show and knew we had to visit. It is located in a Hotel that used to be the winter getaway for the Swedish royal family.
La Pizza Nice has served Italian cuisine including pasta, salads, and (You guessed it) pizza since 1956. Their menus do list English translations. They have 3 restaurants in Nice and one in Cannes. They have huge custom made ovens and use volcanic ash baking stones.
Decor, Vibe – Old traditional french decor with lots of dark wood decor and tables. Sidewalk seating was where most people sat. Lots of people watching as this street of shops is very busy.
Restaurant Acchiardo is a small family run restaurant serving reasonably priced simple traditional French Provencal nicoise cuisine. It is located in Old Town district which is a maze-like labyrinth of small streets. This restaurant is listed in several travel guides.
La Réserve de Nice is situated on huge rock overlooking the harbor entrance to Nice, France. It has beautiful panoramic views of the water. It earned one Michelin star in 2009. Their menu changes daily with best values in their prix fix menus. We order one of each prix fix menu plus a Bouillabaisse. They have an upstairs dining room that was closed.

Chez Papa Resto is a French restaurant located in Mint Plaza, just across from the Westfield San Francisco Center shopping center in downtown San Francisco. The owners are from the South of France and have brought Provenceal cuisine to this restaurant. “The food is simple, unpretentious, and most importantly authentic.”
Guy Savoy is a French Restaurant located in Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. It was opened in 2006 and is the US outpost for 3 Michelin Star Restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris. This location received 2 Michelin Stars in 2009.
Picasso is a 2 Michelin star restaurant in Bellagio at Las Vegas that show cases many of Picasso’s masterpieces. Chef Serrano’s menu is inspired by the regional cuisine of France and Spain where Picasso spent much of his life. You have the choice of 2 different daily changing prix fixe menus with several options.
RN74 from Michael Mina in the Millennium Tower serves French-American cuisine. The wine bar has slightly cheaper items. It is named after the highway that goes through the Burgundy region of France. (Inspired by A16?) Mina also runs Bourbon Steak.
Gamine is a French restaurant on the Union street shopping corridor that used to be named Chez Maman but was purchased by the manager and renamed. Everything else remained the same.
They have a lunch menu and serve Sunday Brunch. They focus on more lower cost fare than many of the expensive restaurants nearby. They are know for the friendly waitstaff.
