In-N-Out Burger Restaurant Review, Mountain View

Posted by Food Nut, February 24th, 2010

In N Out Burger exterior decor

In-N-Out Burger opened way back in 1948 in Baldwin Park, California focusing as a drive through hamburger stand. Their motto is “Give customers the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling clean environment.” They have locations in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah.
We went to the Mountain View location to refresh our memory of how this popular burger tastes. We’ve eaten a ton of high quality burgers and it was time to test our taste buds. In-N-Out does not freeze their beef, has no preservatives in their buns, hand-leaf their lettuce daily, peel and dice fries daily from whole potatoes, and use 100% cholesterol free oil.
Decor, Vibe – Standard fast food joint decor with this location pretty clean.

Rave Burger Restaurant Review, San Mateo

Posted by Food Nut, February 19th, 2010

Rave Burger San Mateo Exterior Decor

Rave Burger is a new burger joint that opened October 2008 in downtown San Mateo. We were walking by and decided to give it a try to see how it rated. The provide sit down service in addition to to go food. They tout their Niman Ranch gourmet natural meats with no antibiotics and hormones. Niman ranch was sold so their quality may have changed. They serve hamburgers, vegan burgers, hot dogs, and salads.  We have been to Rave Burger several times over the last year. Read the rest of this entry »

McDonald’s Angus Burger Restaurant Review

Posted by Food Nut, September 29th, 2009

McDonalds Exterior Decor

McDonald’s recently rolled out three new Angus Third Pounder nationwide. We normally do not review fast food, but figured we would give this a try and report back. It usually does not matter which location we ate at as almost all McDonald’s are supposed to be identical. We visited the San Mateo location. Busier locations may have hotter and better food. The tiny McDonald’s by ATT Park in San Francisco seems a tad better than others.

Taylor’s Automatic Refresher Restaurant Review, San Francisco

Posted by Food Nut, June 24th, 2009

Taylors Automatic Refresher San Francisco 1

Taylor’s Automatic Refresher is a classic burger joint with 2 locations in the Wine country and one in San Francisco. We went to the San Francisco Ferry Building location and the Napa location next to the Oxbow Market. This place serves burgers, sandwiches, and the like. They have a pretty big beer and wine menu for a burger place. We’ve eaten burgers here several times, which are average, and it was time for a change.
Decor, Vibe – Classic diner decor. Busy Ferry building location with lots of tourists and locals looking for a fast lunch.
