Why did we dine here? – KOME Buffet is an Asian buffet located under the Century 20 Daly City movie theater. This location used to house the old Todai buffet.
We were invited by friends to try out this buffet. Dinner costs from $20.95 to $22.95 depending on the day. Lunch ranges from $11.95 to $14.95. Kids discount for those aged 3 to 11.
Insider Tip – Come early or late to avoid the long crowds.
Cuisine – Chinese and Japanese buffet
Location – Daly City
Opened – 2010
Service – KOME Buffet had fair service, not enough wait staff, so we had to hail our servers to get drinks, plate changes.
Verdict – KOME Buffet serves up good Chinese food and Japanese sushi at reasonable prices, hence the long wait. There seem to be a long line for the Chinese food, most of the evening. We prefer nearby Moonstar because the food is a little better, and the dessert selection is much larger.
Signature Dishes – Chinese cooked dishes and Japanese sushi
KOME Buffet’s Food variety is very extensive, from four kinds of soup including Shark’s fin soup to a couple salads to several raw seafood items.
Chinese cooked food like the roast duck, char siu, pork belly, and lobster were pretty reasonable.
Eight kinds of marginal dim sum, made to order noodles, udon, won ton.
Twenty six different kinds of sushi rolls, six kinds of sashimi, and made to order hand rolls.
Dessert consisted of six kinds of ice cream, two Chinese soups, and various mousses and cakes.
