Solbar is a beautiful restaurant located in the Solage resort and Calistoga. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and received one Michelin star in 2011.

Brandon Sharp who recently worked at Gary Danko And French Laundry, is the chef. They focus on using organic, sustainable, and the freshest, ripest ingredients, including vegetables from their outdoor garden.

Why did we dine here? – We were staying at this beautiful resort, so it was pretty obvious that we should try out the restaurant. Our package included breakfast, so this meal was a no-brainer.

house-cured smoked salmon with bagel, cream cheese, and our pickles ($17) offers a good start to the day, with its ample pile of lox and very fresh bagel.

Solbar Calistoga Bacon Hashbrown

brannan street breakfast: two eggs any style with russet potato hash browns, homemade sausage or bacon, and choice of toast ($16) included some excellent bacon along with a thin and crispy Hash Brown and a healthy portion of scrambled eggs.

solage continental: seasonal fruit, homemade granola, yogurt, and a freshly baked muffin with orange or grapefruit juice and french press coffee or mighty leaf tea ($19) was a beautiful dish that included very fresh fruit, some top-notch homemade granola covering a tart space yogurt.
