Ramen Club

723 California Drive (@ Oak Grove)

Burlingame, CA 94010

Ramen Club Burlingame Exterior

Ramen club is a 20yr old Japanese restaurant on California Drive in Burlingame right across from the Caltrain tracks. They specialize in home made ramen noodles, hence the name.  Unlike some other ramen places like Halu or Santa Ramen, they also serve sushi, sashimi, etc.
They have some great $6.75-$8.95 specials during lunch.

The place has an average atmosphere for a Japanese restaurant.

Picks:

Ramen Club Burlingame Saba Bento Box

Half Order Ramen

Saba Shioyaki Lunch Bento Box special ($6.75) – Grilled mackerel with slightly salt flavor comes with good macaroni Salad, goma-ae (Cooked Japanese Spinach salad), rice, and small half order of soy ramen. Very good value, simple but well cooked fish, not too salty. Lots of food for the money. Ramen broth was good but a little greasy.

Ramen Club Burlingame Tuna Poki

Tuna Poki ($6.95) has thinly sliced onions, couple pea shoots, with a sweet soy dressing. The zesty ness of the onion blended well with the sweet ness of the dressing. 1in cubes of tuna was good but not in high quantity.

Ramen Club Burlingame Sushi

Sushi Combo ($6.75) with tuna, ebi, Salmon, unagi, 2pieces of california roll, and miso soup was a great value.  All items were good quality, not great.

OK:

Ramen Club Burlingame Bento Box

Beef Rib Lunch Bento Box Special ($7.25) comes with good macaroni Salad, goma-ae (Cooked Japanese Spinach salad), rice, and small half order of soy ramen. Ribs were in good quantity, lots of fat, not burned.

Ramen Club Burlingame Noodles

Half order of noodles with Stewed pork was sized well but a little too oily.

Pans:
None

This place is all about value, similar to Hotaru in San Mateo but with ramen. Ramen Club is not well known, but deserves more attention. Service is very average. If this place interests you, the best time to visit would be during lunch. You’ll get a lot of bang for the buck. Santa Ramen is the place to go if you want top notch ramen.

$25 Dining Certificate for $5
