Tofu House recently opened a location in downtown San Mateo, replacing Sinbad’s. They also have locations in our Palo Alto, Santa Clara, Milpitas.
Decor, Vibe – Pretty generic restaurant decor with tables in an unorganized fashion. Tofu House had mostly Asian folks giving a new place a try.
Menu
Tofu House’s Menu has the usual barbecue dishes, soft tofu, noodle, and bibimbob dishes.
Picks: Free mini seafood pancake if you ask.
OK: BBQ chicken.
Pans: None
Service – Tofu house required flagging down the overworked waiters to get anything done.
Value – Prices are fine but we wish food quality was better. What is with the weird prices?
Alternatives – Nearby restaurants include far better Myung Dong Tofu Cabin and Todam Tofu House.
Verdict – Tofu House opens a new location in an area with no Korean restaurants, but needs to work on their quality and service.
