Chinese name: 锦江苑餐厅
Jinjiang Palace Chinese Restaurant is located in Taiyuan’s 5 star World Trade Hotel, about 400km from Beijing. They focus on traditional Shanghai cuisine.
Decor, Vibe – Modern, clean Chinese interior with lots of Asian decorations, lighting, and nice furniture. Open dining area with private rooms along the walls. The restaurant was not crowded when we visited for a light dinner. Most people dining were hotel guests or businessmen.

Menu
Picks:
Shanxi Tijian Noodles (10¥) is a classic dish with 3 items; noodles, tomatoes with egg, and Zha Jiang sauce. Combine them yourselves and you have a delicious dish.
Pan Fried Pork Dumplings (12¥) were very good with nice outside skin and meat. Could have use a more fried bottom.
Salted pork, Bamboo Shoots (36¥) were a nice way to get some vegetables with some meat flavor. In any case, not much real meat.
OK:
Marinated Donkey Penis (68¥) was ordered for fun. It did not taste like chicken. It was gamey and very gelatinous. No aphrodisiac effect
Pans:
Winter Melon Soup (38¥) was pretty bland. It tasted like it had been cooked for five minutes.
Jinjiang Palace Chinese Restaurant had very good service, with a server near us at most times. Labor is cheap in China, so this is the case in most finer restaurants. Prices are higher than most local restaurants, as this place focuses on being convenient to hotel guests.
