First Quality Shanghai Dumpling Restaurant is an informal sit down restaurant located in the Oriental Plaza shopping mall. They have several locations. We could seem them making dumplings through a view port and just had to give them a try. Our meal included a noodle and rice dish which were forgettable, so come here for the dumplings only.

Decor, Vibe – Small high tech mall restaurant with a mostly booth seating. Most young locals were eating when we were dining.

Juicy!

Fresh Pork Steamed Dumplings (14¥ for were freshly steamed and rushed to the table. They were too hot to eat initially. Nice thin wrapper and lots of soup in side. Very good flavor to the pork and soup. These dumplings were easily superior to anything we’ve eaten in the San Francisco Bay Area and at a fraction of the price.

First Quality Shanghai Dumpling had good service with food arriving pretty quickly. Prices are reasonable, quality is OK, making this a no brainer for a quick informal bite of Xiao Long Bao dumplings if you are at the mall.
