Tog Dog has been serving up grilled sausages on French rolls since 1966. They now have 5 locations in the East Bay, most are near UC Berkeley and are open very late. They serve 10 different varieties.
Decor, Vibe – Tiny hole in the wall with pretty low key decor, political leaflets all over. Many students getting food.

Picks:
top dog Frankfuter ($3) All beef – kosher style from Chicago was better than your average hot dog. Lots of good meat and a crunchy bun that falls apart. Gotta eat at least 2 to fill up.
Smoked Chicken Apple ($3) Chicken, juicy bits of apple, low salt had subtle apple flavor but was still pretty good and thick.
OK:
None
Pans:
None
Tog Dog takes about 5 minutes to cook up the dogs and buns. Dress them up with Sauerkraut, onions, relish, 5 kinds of mustard. The food is good and cheap. Not as good as Rosamunde in San Francisco. They also sell prepackaged cold dogs to go.
