Dumpling Dumpling closed in August 2009. It is now Cafe Orchid serving Hong Kong style American dishes. If you are looking for dumpling, visit Shanghai Dumpling Shop.
Dumpling Dumpling is a new Northern Chinese restaurant in Millbrae from the folks who run nearby Shanghai Dumpling shop. It is located across the street from the Millbrae BART/Caltrain station.
Decor, Vibe – Clean, small location with only about 12 tables. Tiny parking lot in the back. Mostly Asians were eating, with most folks in their 30′s to 40′s.

Picks:
Shanghai Steamed Dumplings or Xiao Long Bao ($6.95) eight pieces of pork filled freshly steamed dumplings. A lot of juice inside, tender wrapper. Some of the best in the SF Bay Area, although ones from Shanghai are in another world.
Pan Fried Beef Buns ($5.95) had six buns that were fried pretty well. Skin was just the right thickness and the meat inside was juicy. The version here is one of the best in the SF Bay Area.
Scallion Pancake ($3.95) were very authentic. No very crispy or greasy, this version had more subdued flavors and textures.
Bean Curd with Vegetables ($4.95) was a good dish full of zesty shredded veggies with some bean curd.
Beef dumplings in soup ($) had some gooey dumplings filled with beef, floating in a lightly flavored soup. The texture of the dumplings was soft but tasty.
OK:
Hainan Chicken Rice Plate ($6.50 during lunch, otherwise $7.50) was a nice rice plate with flavorful rice along with a good mound of chicken. The chicken was just not too flavorful.
Pans:
None
Dumpling Dumpling had average service for this type of restaurant. Most of the food was better than expected, making us want to come back and explore more of the menu. Prices are pretty reasonable too.
