Taqueria Tres Amigos 270 S. Cabrillo Hwy Half Moon Bay, CA 94019 650-726-6080 |
Taqueria Tres Amigos is a Mexican restaurant on Highway 1 just south of the Highway 92 junction. They’ve been around for years and remodelled a couple years ago. Pretty standard Mexican restaurant menu with Burritos, Tacos, Specialties, and 9 types of fillings.
Decor, Vibe – Clean, rustic interior with lots of exposed beams and a TV. Locals of all ages were passing by and grabbing a quick bite.

Picks:
Carne Asada Burrito ($5.60 regular size) was pretty massive and had good flavor. Balance of beans and beef with a lots more rice. Meat was pretty tender and the black beans were fresh.
Horchata ($1.50 for 16oz) was tastes good and is well balanced. Not too sweet, not too much cinamon.
OK:
Quesadilla ($1.50) was pretty plain and small. Cheese was pretty run of the mill. We actually asked for a Chicken one but did not followup.
Pans:
None
Taqueria Tres Amigos has solid Mexican food in a convenient location. The food is better than expected. Food was not as good as the top taco trucks in San Francisco though.
If you are hitting the beach or biking or hiking near Half Moon Bay, you can find solid and inexpensive food at Tres Amigos. The downtown San Mateo location’s food does not seem to be as good.
