Tipsy Pig San Francisco Exterior

The Tipsy Pig is a new Gastro Pub in San Francisco’s Marina District from the folks who run Mamacita and Umami. They focus on libations and serve American comfort food. They are open late, with the last seating at 10-11pm.

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Interior

Decor, Vibe – Nice classic rustic old English pub style decor. The place was packed with the Marina crowd, lots of designer denim. Tipsy Pig was extremely loud, almost excessively so. It was hard to heard someone a foot away! They have a nice looking patio in the back for better weather days.

Picks:

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Collins

Blood Orange Collins ($9) with gin, lemon, ginger, soda and blood orage was a good cocktail. Potent and flavorful.

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Thyme Biscuits

Warm Cheddar and Thyme Biscuit ($5) with spiced honey had 2 huge delicious biscuits. Nice dipping sauce.

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Spinach Salad

Baby Spinach Salad ($10) with Kabocha squash, Pancetta, Manchego, Shaved egg and sherry vinagrette was a good salad and of good size. Fresh spinach. The dressing was a little too sour though.

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Fried Chicken

Fried Free Range Chicken Breast ($18) with gravy, buttermilk mash, Collard greens and spiced honey was very juicy and lightly breaded. Pretty good implementation.

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Crumble

Apple Crumble Dessert ($8) was hot out of the oven with ice cream on top. Topping was a little mushy, apple’s were slightly buttery but good.

OK:

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Sliders

Tipsy Sliders ($12) were three Chimay braised pulled pork and red cabbage slaw on Hawaiian sweet buns did not have a lot of flavor to them. The pork was tender and buns very soft.

Tipsy Pig San Francisco Pork Chop

Maple Brined Niman Pork Chop ($23) with drunken apples, grain mustard sauce and yukon gold brussel sprout hash was not that big, but was cooked ok. The hash was large but on the burned side.

Pans:
None

The Tipsy Pig had decent service with the server coming by ever so often. The sound level is too lound in this place. Hard to converse. Food was better than expected and portions are good. If you are looking for a drink and some high quality pub grub, give this place a try.
They have a kids menu and will be adding lunch and brunch in the future.

Hi, so I actually like the tipsy pig, but I just had such a weird experience there that completely soured me on the place. One of the owner/manager guys was talking to the kitchen and turned around right as I was walking past. He turned into me and his foot got under mine.. He got mouthy with me as I was heading out of the bar and then came up behind to ask for an apology. What nerve on this guy! I said, “if you are trying to start something, have your security take me outside.” He complied, but still waited at the door as I was leaving to berate me on how rude I was….How VERY rude HE was. I said, “You need to treat your customers more respect” and gently left the bar.
