Pizza Nostra is a new Italian restaurant by the Chez Papa Resto folks. It has an Italian pizza chef from Naples. They serve Neapolitan-style pizza, focaccia, pastas, and antipasti small plates. Pizza Nostra is located on Potrero Hill right near 16th street and serves both dinner and lunch.
Decor, Vibe – Converted warehouse style decor with dark wooden booths, open kitchen, counter seating, outdoor patio. Some families, couples, foodies in their 30′s and 40′s were dining.

Picks:
Eggplant Involtini ($7) with stuffed with goat cheese, pesto, on a tomato concasse were several delicious stuff eggplant rolls. Good flavor especially when you put some of the tomatoes on them.
Spagetti Pomodoro ($16) with fresh basil and parmigiano reggiano was very good. Pasta was cooked al dente and sauce had lots of fresh tomatoes. Good portion size.
Caprese Pizza ($16) with fresh tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, arugula was a good 12inch pizza. The toppings were plentiful and very good. The pizza was not crispy, but was almost like a flatbred with toppings on top.
Espresso Panna Cotta ($6) with fig vin cotto was smooth and accented perfectly with the strong vinegar sauce. Not overly creamy.
OK:
Marguerite Pizza ($12) was fair. Again almost like 12inches flatbread. Cheese flavor was decent, but not great. The ones at Gialina and Pizziaolo are far better.
Pans:
Garlic Country Bread ($2 for 3 slices) were 3 tiny slices of lightly flavored dark bread.
Pizza Nostra brought our pizzas within 10 minutes of ordering, then came the appetizers. We had to push to order dessert. Clearly they are still getting in sync.
The food was decent by not extraordinary. We see this place as more of a neighborhood lunch/dinner place than a major destination restaurant. You can find superior Neapolitan pizza in several spots in San Francisco like Gialina or Pizza Delfina.
We’ve had a friend report that the noise level in the place has reached very loud levels.
