Farina Pizza Restaurant Review, San Francisco

700 Valencia St (At 18th Street)
San Francisco, CA 94110
Why did we dine here? – Farina Pizza is a sister restaurant down the block from Farina Restaurant, in San Francisco’s gentrified Mission district. They serve dishes from Executive chef Paolo Laboa and Neapolitan pizzas by master pizzaoli, Antonio and Gennaro Langella. True Italians.
We’ve big pizza fans, having dined at the best in Naples, so we had to try them. We have avoided Farina over the years, due to inconsistent reviews on Yelp. At least we killed 2 birds with 1 stone!
Insider Tip – Come early or order takeout to avoid waiting
Cuisine – Italian
Location – Mission
Opened – 2012
Service – Farina Pizza has reasonable service, with the lady watching the counter keeping tabs on us.
Verdict – Farina Pizza is a beautiful restaurant that serves decent pizza and pasta. Prices are pretty high though.
Farina Pizza Signature Dishes – Pizza, Gnocchi
Farina Pizza’s Menu features 12 different pizzas, 3 entrees, and 3 pastas. A wide variety of starters and specials are available.
Farina Pizza Food Picks:
Bufalina Pizza ($18) San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, romano cheese, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil was a bit soft and runny, though flavors were good. Slightly tart tomato sauce. Edge goes to Tony’s or Una Pizza Napoletana.
Look at our review of Starita in Naples.. Tons of buffalo moz, crisper crust, only $6.50!
Contadina Pizza ($20) Sausage, fior di latte mozzarella and sauteed broccoli was a contrast in bitter greens and excellent sausage. Soft crust again.
Gnocchi di patate al pesto ($15) Potato dumplings served with Genovese basil pesto is one of their famous dishes. Definitely work getting.
OK: (Order if you like this dish)
Pans: (We would not reorder these dishes)
