bonne Sante Restaurant Review, Burlingame

bonne Sante is a local sandwich shop in the busy Burlingame broadway shopping district. They started last year and serve sandwiches, Burgers and Salads. The draw to this place are the huge portions. We got tipped off to this place because of its high review ratings on yelp.

The interior is clean and modern with the usual sandwich line.  A variety of people came here for a quick lunch.

The Bacon Cheese burger ($6.95) was huge with lots of bacon and cheese. This place is primarily a sandwich shop, so this burger can be thought of as a hamburger sandwich. The bun was a cold sandwich roll. The meat was crumbly and very greasy. It tasted ok, but would surely fill you up and then some.

Chicken Breast Sandwich ($5.95) was a huge sandwich with lots of meat. About average quality, nothing very special.

French fries ($1 Add on) were of good quality, not greasy, not too salty. Quantity was ok, not immense.

The service was fine. It took about 3 minutes for the burger to arrive. They didn’t ask if we wanted the cheap fry or salad add-on, so you need to know about the deal. The place was pretty small and has no air conditioning. If you are looking for big quantities and are nearby, head here. If you want a better burger, drive south a little more and hit Jeffrey’s in San Mateo.
